Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween everyone!  FoMom said she wouldn't make me wear a costume today however she did put some sort of something on me.....

She got very excited and said "It's JAMMIE Time!!"  Apparently when the temperature drops, some houndies get to wear them.  I don't know how I feel about this yet.  What do you think?  How do I look?  I'll parade around a bit.

Do they make my butt look big?

FoMom insists that I look very handsome in these.  And I have to admit, they are toasty.  Maybe I'll settle down in my beddie to see how comfy I am in them.

I think I like them.  Maybe this is a nice treat for me on Halloween!  I hope I get noms later o.....

Run run run!!

Yesterday was a pretty day so FoMa took me and my FoSis and FoBro running!  Since we're Greyhounds and we're really fast we can only run in enclosed areas, and we went to a friend's fenced in big yard!  And guess what?!  I learned that I love water too!!

And here I am running to FoMa with FoSissie!

This is fun!  I love retirement!  (But I'd love it more if I found my Forever Family.....!)

Come back and see me soon!

Love and snuggles!

I Love Fall!

Hi everyone!  It's me, Fred!  I've really been enjoying this retirement stuff.  Soft beds, good noms, walks and play time in falling leaves....

I like trotting in the back yard and going for walks.  I still pull a bit on the leash but I get better all the time, I really do!  I'm just very excited and love to go out!!

That's my foster sissy (FoSis) following me above, she has what FoMom is calling a "crush" on me cuz I am the strong silent type and tall, dark and handsome.  FoSis follows me everywhere.  She's a little older than I am -- she must be what they call a cougar!!!

FoMom says that she's sure there's a family out there for me, they will fill out an application soon  and they will be patient and kind.  (Soft beds and good noms would be nice too!  I'm just sayin!)

Do YOU have soft beds and noms?  If you do, I'd like to come home with you!!!

Love and snuggles,
Fred

Fred is making small strides every day and is just a joy to be around.  We went to a meet and greet a week ago and Fred made new friends with the many people who stopped to visit.

Fred has also (and this is really big) given up the bathroom as his favorite place and now loves spending time in the family room.  He really is so adorable.  Fred would love to meet interested adopters so keep this fabulous boy in mind as he seeks his forever home.

Fred is doing so well and is really getting pumped up for the upcoming adoptathon.   He is just a very special boy.  He is no longer afraid of anything when we take our daily walks.  He is not overly eager to meet new people, but he doesn't turn away from them either.  Meeting new dogs is not a problem.   He is walking so nicely with his harness and has really become a pleasure to take out.  As much as he likes our walks he loves coming home even more and is always ready to run up the driveway to go back inside, so if you're looking for a dog who doesn't need really long extended walks, Fred might be the boy for you.  If you're lucky, he'll be running up your driveway so he can go inside and be a part of your family.  It's really been a joy having him as a foster.

Fred's ready to return to a comfy bed after our walk.   Love this boy!!

Fred is having a wonderful week.  He has adjusted to wearing a harness while we are out walking and is feeling more confident as we see neighbors and new things along the way.  He openly seeks affection several times a day and loves having his ears and tummy rubbed.  You can see from the photos above how incredibly handsome he is.   He will win you over with his sweet disposition and huge heart looking for love.

Fred is slowly coming out of his shell.  He now willingly will stay in the family room around people.  But if it gets too noisy or too many new people are around, he prefers to stay in a quieter location.  He love petting and snuggling.  He has a fabulous appetite and is highly motivated by food.  He will be a shy boy when first meeting people, but with a little time and effort you will see what a wonderful sweet personality lies just underneath the surface.  He gets so excited when his people come home from being away and greets you with his tail wagging, wondering why he didn't get to go along.  Fred will bring joy to his new home - he just needs a little time to adjust and feel comfortable.  He is one handsome greyhound - I hope to add some photos tomorrow.

Fred is such a handsome boy.  He's in a new foster home after having excellent care his former foster parents.  A very sweet, playful boy, he has adjusted so nicely.  He gets along fabulously with other dogs and pays little, if any, attention to cats.  He is still a little nervous around new things and new people and needs a lot of support as he gains more self confidence.  He gets worried over thunderstorms, the vacuum, odd noises, etc.  We are working on helping him to overcome some of those fears.  He loves to eat and loves treats of any kind.  He enjoys gathering up stuffies and taking them to his happy place (the bathroom).  He's allowed some bathroom time each day but we are working on getting him out of the bathroom and enjoying more family time.

He would make a wonderful addition to any family willing to give him a little extra time as he adjusts to retired life.

Hi, it's me Fred - Just checking in!

Hey everyone, it's me Fred. My retirement started out a bit rough. I was waiting to meet some families and something bite me! I swelled up like a ballon! Now you all know how lean and trim I like to stay so needless to say I was really stressed about it. The good folks at GEGR drove me all over the place and got me some good treatment and by Sunday night I was as good as new, except for the two little holes and the shaved area on my back! Good news is that the hair is already growing back. I landed at the Nussberger house which has bunches of dog beds, there are three in the master bedroom and two in the living room. I chose one in the master bedroom and Lulu told me it was hers but she would let me use it because I would only be there a little while. Her and AJ both live here with Wookie. They are a very friendly bunch! You should know that I am a bit shy and don't warm up to people right away. I will be going to another foster home for four days cause the Nussberger's are going to Gettysburg for GIG, whatever that means. They can only fit three dogs in their truck so I will be staying with Penny and a real pretty greyhound named Olive. I hope we get along cause she is one sweet looking girl! Well I have to go for now, check out my picture on the website....put in that application now so that I can check it out and see if your a good match for me! Hopefully we will see you in May!
